Saladini Pilastri Rosso Piceno 2024
Saladini Pilastri is a historic family estate in the Marche region of central Italy, with roots dating back to the 19th century and a long tradition of craft focused winemaking. The vineyards for Rosso Piceno are planted on rolling hills between the Adriatic Sea and the Apennines, with varied soils of clay, limestone and red earth that give both structure and freshness to the wines. The estate follows sustainable viticultural practices and hand harvests its grapes as well as being certified organic.
Saladini Pilastri Rosso Piceno 2024 is a blend of primarily Montepulciano and Sangiovese (typically around 70% Montepulciano, 30% Sangiovese), fermented in stainless steel and aged briefly in tank and large cask to maintain vibrant fruit expression. It displays bright red berry and sour cherry character with savoury herb undertones, supple tannins and lively acidity. A versatile wine, it pairs beautifully with pasta, pizza, grilled meats and tomato based dishes, and is crafted for approachable everyday drinking.
