Poggio Capponi Chianti 2023 Half Bottle

Poggio Capponi is a family-owned estate located near Montespertoli in Tuscany, producing wines with respect for the environment and traditional viticulture. The vineyards are organically farmed, situated on gently rolling hills with clay and limestone soils, which provide excellent drainage and promote expressive Sangiovese character. The estate focuses on crafting wines that reflect the local terroir while maintaining natural balance.

The 2023 Chianti is made primarily from Sangiovese, with small amounts of local red varieties. The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented in stainless steel to preserve freshness and purity. After fermentation, the wine is aged briefly in neutral vessels to integrate flavours. It shows red cherry and strawberry aromas, delicate floral hints, bright acidity, and soft tannins. Pairs beautifully with grilled meats, pasta with tomato-based sauces, and aged cheeses.
