Tannat is the flagship grape of Uruguay, having its roots in Madiran, France. Here, in the region of Canelones, Tannat achieves perfect tannic maturity, thanks to fertile soils rich in clay and the moderate Atlantic weather. Carbonic Maceration is an ancient technique, usually associated to Beaujolais, that helps creating fresh wines that are ready to drink quite young. While the classic Gamay-based Beaujolais are full of strawberries and cherries, this Carbonic Maceration Tannat beings you juicy red plums and fresh blackberries. A fun, easy to drink and versatile wine that breaks stereotypes.
