Piper Heidsieck Essentiel Blanc de Blancs MAGNUM
This champagne region is known for its harsh climates, with hotter summer and colder winters. Limestone heavy soils present in the hills creates a climate designed for flourish vineyards. In the winery 100 steel vats are present and independently labeled for each cru and variety. They are highly monitored from beginning to end, with expert tasters carefully deciding which batches will be aged into a vintage or selected for non-vintage bottling. In the early 2000s the Piper-Heidsieck house began their commitment to sustainable and organic techniques, earning them a B-corp certification.
The essential Blanc de Blancs is fermented in stainless steel vats and then aged for 36 months on lees. A 100% chardonnay this champagne is reserved exclusively for independent merchants. On the nose it offers aromas of yuzu, almond and oranges blossom. On the palate it has a fresh and long finish with flavors of citrus and mineral. Pairs exceptionally well with fresh oysters, cerviche and appetizers.
