Produced by Pepe Mendoza Casa Agrícola in Llíber, Alicante, Spain, Pureza 2020 is a striking expression of Mediterranean viticulture from one of Spain’s most respected contemporary winemakers. After decades as the technical director at Enrique Mendoza, Pepe Mendoza established his own project in 2016 with a clear vision: to champion indigenous grape varieties and produce wines that reflect the unique landscapes of Alicante through sustainable farming and minimal intervention. The estate is located in the Marina Alta, where limestone soils, abundant sunshine and cooling sea breezes from the Mediterranean combine to produce wines of freshness, balance and remarkable purity. Farmed organically, the vineyards are managed with great respect for biodiversity, allowing the local terroir to take centre stage. The 2020 vintage offered excellent growing conditions, producing wines with concentration, vibrant acidity and exceptional precision.

Made from 100% Moscatel de Alejandría grown on old bush vines, Pureza 2020 is fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged on its lees to enhance texture while preserving the grape’s natural freshness and aromatic finesse. True to its name, the wine is wonderfully pure, offering expressive aromas of orange blossom, jasmine, white peach, citrus zest and fresh Mediterranean herbs, underpinned by a distinctive chalky minerality. The palate is dry, textured and beautifully balanced, with bright acidity, saline freshness and a long, elegant finish that defies expectations of the Moscatel variety. Both vibrant and gastronomic, it pairs beautifully with grilled seafood, oysters, ceviche, Asian cuisine, fresh goat's cheese and Mediterranean vegetable dishes.
