Paparuda Merlot 2023

Paparuda Merlot 2023 is produced by Cramele Reca, a historic Romanian winery located in western Romania. The vineyards lie on gently rolling hills with mixed soils of clay, sand and limestone, influenced by a continental climate with warm summers and cooling breezes. The estate practises sustainable viticulture, focusing on vineyard health and biodiversity. The wines are produced without animal-based fining agents and are considered vegan friendly.

The wine is made entirely from Merlot grapes, harvested at optimal ripeness to preserve fresh fruit character. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by a short period of ageing, partly in oak, to add structure without overpowering the fruit. Medium-bodied in style, it shows ripe plum, cherry and blackberry notes, with soft tannins and a smooth finish. Ideal with grilled meats, pasta dishes and hard cheeses.
