Mee Godard Beaujolais Blanc 2024
Produced by Mee Godard, an acclaimed producer based in the Beaujolais region of eastern France. Originally from South Korea and raised in France, Mee Godard established her domaine in Morgon after studying oenology and working with several respected growers in Burgundy and Beaujolais. The estate focuses on sustainable, low intervention viticulture with meticulous vineyard management and hand harvesting. The Chardonnay grapes for this wine are grown on hillside vineyards within the Beaujolais appellation, where granite, clay and limestone influenced soils provide freshness, minerality and balance.
The 2024 vintage is made from 100% Chardonnay, fermented with indigenous yeasts in a combination of stainless steel and neutral oak barrels to preserve fruit purity while adding subtle texture. The wine is aged on its lees for several months before bottling, enhancing complexity and mouthfeel without heavy oak influence. It displays aromas of lemon zest, white peach and green apple alongside delicate floral and mineral notes. The palate is fresh yet rounded, with crisp acidity, subtle creaminess and a clean persistent finish. It pairs beautifully with seafood, roast chicken, creamy pasta dishes and soft cheeses.
