Produced by Marthe Henry, Bourgogne Rouge Saint Martin is a compelling example of the new generation of Burgundian growers combining deep regional roots with a thoughtful, low-intervention philosophy. Based in Meursault, Marthe Henry is the granddaughter of Pierre Boillot and came to wine through an unconventional route, having first worked as a journalist before returning to Burgundy to study viticulture and oenology. After gaining experience with leading organic and biodynamic producers, she launched her own project in 2017, initially as a micro-négociant before gradually expanding her range through carefully selected vineyard parcels. Working with a minimalist approach in both vineyard and cellar, she focuses on producing wines that express place with clarity, favouring balance, freshness and transparency over extraction or winemaking influence. Her wines have quickly become sought after by sommeliers and Burgundy enthusiasts for their purity and authenticity.

Made from Pinot Noir grown on limestone-rich soils around the hamlet of Saint Martin in the Côte de Beaune, the wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts and vinified with a gentle touch to preserve fruit purity and vineyard character. Extraction is deliberately restrained and élevage is carefully managed to enhance texture without masking the wine’s natural freshness. Aromas of wild strawberry, red cherry and redcurrant are accompanied by hints of rose petal, subtle spice and a delicate earthy nuance. The palate is bright, silky and energetic, with fine-grained tannins, vibrant acidity and a savoury mineral thread that carries through the finish.
