Description

Marie Thibault is a small, independent producer based in the Touraine appellation of the Loire Valley, working with organic principles and a strong focus on minimal intervention winemaking. After gaining experience with natural wine producers, she established her own project centred on expressing the purity of local grape varieties. Her vineyards are farmed organically, with manual harvesting and careful vineyard management. The soils in this part of the Loire are typically flint, clay and limestone, contributing freshness, minerality and vibrancy, supported by a temperate climate influenced by both Atlantic and continental conditions. Her wines are generally suitable for vegans due to minimal or no fining.

Le Grolleau 2021 is made from 100% Grolleau, a traditional Loire Valley variety known for its light, fresh style. The grapes are fermented with indigenous yeasts and undergo a gentle maceration to preserve fruit character, followed by ageing in stainless steel or neutral vessels for a short period, typically around 6 months. The wine is bottled with little or no sulphur and minimal filtration. It shows bright red berry aromas of cranberry and redcurrant with a hint of herbal freshness. The palate is light, lively and refreshing, making it ideal slightly chilled alongside charcuterie, salads and simple grilled dishes.
