Description

Produced by Maison Glandien in Burgundy, Les Roches 2023 is the work of Tino Kuban, one of the most sought-after figures in the new generation of French wine. Originally from Berlin, Kuban built an extraordinary résumé through stages at renowned estates including Domaine de l’Horizon, Mullineux, Felton Road, Burn Cottage, Domaine de la Tournelle, Domaine Pierre Overnoy, Philippe Bornard and Dard & Ribo before establishing his own domaine, Les Jardins Vivants, in Meursault. Alongside this project, he created Maison Glandien, sourcing organically and biodynamically farmed fruit from trusted growers across Burgundy and beyond. Produced in tiny quantities and released through limited allocations, his wines have developed a cult following and are notoriously difficult to obtain.

Made from 100% Pinot Noir sourced from organically farmed vineyards in the Côte Chalonnaise, Les Roches is vinified with indigenous yeasts, whole-cluster fermentation and minimal intervention to preserve purity and site expression. The wine is aged with a light touch, bottled without fining or filtration, and produced with only minimal sulphur. Aromas of wild strawberry, red cherry and cranberry are complemented by rose petals, dried herbs and subtle earthy mineral notes. The palate is vibrant and energetic, combining crunchy red fruit with fine tannins, bright acidity and remarkable transparency. Despite its immediate charm, there is impressive depth and precision beneath the surface, reflecting Kuban’s meticulous approach and the distinctive character of Burgundy’s limestone-rich terroirs.
