Luis Seabra Xisto Cru Douro Branco 2021

Luis Seabra made his name as winemaker for Niepoort, before leaving to set up his own project in 2013. Seabra’s idea was to make uncompromising wines: the sort he wanted to make, without thinking about what the market wants. He wanted to create authentic expressions of these regions.

70% Rabigato, 10% Códega, 10% Gouveio, 10% Viosinho Dozelino Branco from sustainably farmed vineyards planted from 1920-1933 located in the southern part of Douro Superior, near the Spanish border. This wine has a brilliant straw colour. On the nose, high toned and mineral driven aromas of sour peaches, flowers, fresh fennel bulb and savoury. On the palate, more peach, citrus zest and fennel, with white pepper and floral tones rounding out the finish.
