Livio Felluga is a distinguished estate in the Collio and Colli Orientali regions of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, founded in the 1950s and currently managed by Andrea Felluga, the third generation of the family. The vineyards sit on “ponca” soils of marl, sandstone and marl flysch, with cooling Adriatic breezes moderating the climate. While not fully certified organic or biodynamic, the estate follows sustainable practices, such as minimal chemical inputs and full vine-to-wine traceability.

The Illivio Bianco 2018 is a prestigious white blend combining Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco and a touch of Picolit (a rare, ancient white variety native to Friuli), sourced from the estate’s older parcels. Livio Felluga cultivates this variety to preserve local heritage and due to its naturally intense fruit flavours and fine acidity. The grapes are hand-harvested, gently pressed and partially barrel-fermented in small French oak casks, followed by around 10 months ageing on fine lees. It offers vibrant aromas of white flowers, ripe pear, exotic fruit and subtle spice, with a refined, mineral-driven palate. This wine is excellent with shellfish, truffled risotto or fresh alpine cheeses.
