Leopards Leap Culinaria Collection Pinot Noir
Leopards Leap is a family owned South African winery in the Franschhoek Valley, established with a passion for producing approachable, food friendly wines. The Culinaria Collection was created to celebrate the harmony between wine and cuisine, showcasing wines that pair effortlessly with a wide range of dishes. Pinot Noir grapes were grown in cool climate sites in the Western Cape on well drained, weathered granite and sandstone soils with clay content.
The grapes for the Culinaria Collection Pinot Noir were hand harvested and made in a classic style with careful fermentation and oak ageing to add structure and complexity. After fermentation the wine was matured for around 14-18 months in French oak barrels, allowing subtle integration of oak and fruit. Expect enticing aromas of red berry, raspberry and cherry with spicy undertones, supple tannins and balanced acidity. Delicious with duck in cranberry sauce, mushroom risotto or roasted poultry. Already a joy to drink and will continue to develop over the next 5 years.
