Korenika & Moškon ‘Festival’ Red 2023
Korenika & Moškon is a family owned winery founded in 1984 in Korte in the Slovenian Istria (Primorje) region. The estate farms around 25 hectares of vineyards certified organic and biodynamic under Demeter, reflecting long standing sustainable principles from vineyard to cellar. They focus on indigenous and international varieties grown on marl rich soils shaped by coastal and Mediterranean influences. The Festival range is part of their approachable, fresh style, and this wine is considered vegan friendly due to minimal intervention winemaking practices.
The ‘Festival’ Red 2023 is a blend of Refošk, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. Grapes are hand harvested, fermented with indigenous yeasts and undergo maceration on skins for around five days, followed by malolactic fermentation and ageing on lees in stainless steel for approximately eight months, preserving vibrant red fruit and balance. It shows medium dark ruby colour with aromas of raspberries, strawberries and spice, soft tannins and lively acidity. This versatile red pairs well with grilled meats, pasta, pizza and stews for casual and festive occasions.
