Poulprix is produced by Domaine Ganevat in Rotalier, in France’s Jura region. The estate is run by Jean-François Ganevat and his sister Anne and is known for biodynamic farming and highly expressive, low intervention winemaking. This cuvée is a Vin de France style red made from sourced organic grapes rather than estate fruit, vinified in Jura under the domaine’s natural winemaking approach. The blend comes from Gamay grown in Fleurie in Beaujolais and Pinot Noir from Alsace, both cultivated in organic vineyards with limestone and granite influenced soils that support freshness and aromatic purity.

The 2024 vintage is a blend of Gamay from Fleurie and Pinot Noir from Alsace, vinified with indigenous yeasts and a gentle extraction approach, often including partial whole bunch fermentation to enhance lift and fragrance. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel or neutral vats, followed by ageing for several months in large used wooden vessels to preserve purity and texture without overt oak influence. The wine shows bright aromas of red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry alongside floral notes, soft spice and a subtle mineral edge. The palate is light, juicy and vibrant with fresh acidity, soft tannins and a crisp, energetic finish. It pairs well with charcuterie, roast poultry and simple bistro-style dishes.
