Immich-Batterieberg is one of the Mosel’s oldest estates with records dating back to the 15th century. Under the guidance of winemaker Gernot Kollmann the winery has become a benchmark for dry, terroir-driven Rieslings. The vineyards are farmed using organic practices. The steep blue slate soils of The Steffensberg vineyard produces wines of striking minerality that reflect the cool Mosel climate and long ripening season.

The Steffensberg Riesling 2017 was harvested by hand, fermented spontaneously with native yeasts and aged for approximately 12 months in large neutral oak barrels on the fine lees. This gentle ageing enhances texture and depth while preserving clarity. This Riesling shows striking minerality, with smoky slate, flint and crushed herbs framing flavours of lime, green apple and grapefruit. Textured and complex the wine combines Mosel precision with impressive depth from its long lees ageing. Unlike some traditional Mosel wines that lean towards off-dry or sweeter expressions, Immich-Batterieberg focuses almost exclusively on bone-dry, mineral-driven bottlings. Fresh yet structured, it pairs beautifully with shellfish, pork dishes, creamy risottos or aged cheeses.
