Iliana Malihin Lefkos Vidiano Thrapsathiri 2025
Produced by Iliana Malihin in Crete, Greece, Lefkos 2025 is a beautifully expressive white blend that captures the island’s remarkable viticultural heritage through two of its finest indigenous grape varieties, Vidiano and Thrapsathiri. After gaining experience with leading wineries in Greece and abroad, Iliana Malihin established her own label with the ambition of crafting small production wines that express the individuality of Crete’s historic vineyards. The grapes are sourced from carefully selected high altitude sites where limestone-rich soils, cooling mountain breezes and the island’s Mediterranean climate preserve freshness while allowing full aromatic ripeness. The result is a wine that combines precision, texture and a strong sense of place.
Made from Vidiano and Thrapsathiri, Lefkos showcases the complementary character of these native Cretan varieties. Vidiano contributes richness, stone fruit and texture, while Thrapsathiri brings freshness, citrus and vibrant acidity. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and vinified with a minimal intervention philosophy, the wine is handled gently to preserve the purity of the fruit and the identity of the vineyard. It offers aromas of white peach, apricot, lemon zest and pear, layered with wild herbs, white flowers and subtle mineral notes. The palate is textured yet energetic, finishing with bright acidity, saline freshness and impressive length. A modern expression of Cretan white wine, it pairs beautifully with grilled seafood, shellfish, Mediterranean vegetables, fresh cheeses and herb roasted poultry.
