Hervé Villemade is a small, family-run estate in the Loire Valley of France, with vineyards around Charnizay and Saumur. Hervé converted the estate to organic viticulture in the early 2000s and the vineyards are now fully certified organic. The estate focuses on natural, low-intervention winemaking, using indigenous yeasts and using minimal additives. The Gamay grapes thrive on clay-limestone soils with good drainage, giving expressive fruit and aromatic purity.

The Gamay grapes are hand-harvested and fermented using wild yeasts. The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks to preserve fresh fruit and varietal character. Light to medium-bodied, it shows vibrant red berry aromas, cherry, subtle spice, and floral notes, with crisp acidity and soft tannins. It pairs beautifully with charcuterie, roasted poultry, light pasta dishes, grilled vegetables, and fresh cheeses, offering a versatile, food-friendly style.
