Produced by Henri Chauvet in the Auvergne region of central France, Vie Ordinaire Pinot Noir 2023 reflects the revival of one of the country's oldest and most distinctive wine regions. Once a major source of French wine before the devastation of phylloxera, Auvergne has experienced a renaissance driven by a new generation of growers focused on expressive, terroir-driven wines. The vineyards lie on the volcanic slopes of the Massif Central, where basalt-rich soils and a cool continental climate help preserve freshness while imparting a distinctive mineral character. Sustainable farming and minimal intervention winemaking allow the unique identity of the region to shine through.

Made from 100% Pinot Noir, the wine is vinified with a light touch to emphasise purity, energy and drinkability. Aromas of red cherry, wild raspberry and cranberry are complemented by hints of dried herbs, crushed stone and a subtle volcanic smokiness. The palate is fresh, supple and vibrant, with bright acidity, soft tannins and a juicy core of red fruit. True to its name, it is an uncomplicated but characterful wine designed for enjoyment rather than contemplation, offering a charming expression of Auvergne's emerging wine scene. It pairs beautifully with charcuterie, roast poultry and simple bistro dishes.
