Henri Chauvet Echappee Belle 2024
Produced by Henri Chauvet as a négoce cuvée sourced from organically farmed vineyards in Alsace, Échappée Belle 2024 reflects his broader vision of crafting vibrant, low-intervention wines from carefully selected fruit outside his home region of Auvergne. Chauvet, best known for his work in reviving volcanic terroirs in central France, applies the same minimalist philosophy here, focusing on purity, drinkability and transparent expression of fruit. The vineyards in Alsace are planted on a mix of clay, limestone and alluvial soils in a cool continental climate, ideal for preserving freshness and aromatic precision.
Made from approximately 90% Pinot Noir and 10% Pinot Gris, the wine is vinified with native yeasts and a light extraction approach to preserve aromatic lift and freshness. Échappée Belle 2024 shows bright aromas of red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry alongside subtle floral notes, white pepper and a delicate, slightly textural nuance from the Pinot Gris component. The palate is juicy and energetic, with vibrant acidity, soft tannins and a clean, precise structure that prioritises drinkability over weight. Fresh, supple and immediately engaging, it offers a pure and expressive take on Alsace-sourced Pinot Noir, designed for early enjoyment with dishes such as charcuterie, roast poultry and light seasonal cuisine.
