Heimann Piros Siller 2022

Heimann & Fiai is a family run winery in the Szekszárd wine region of southern Hungary, where the Heimann family has been making wine for generations. The estate farms around 23 hectares of vineyards on loess and iron rich Terra Rossa soils across the Baranya, Porkoláb and Iván valleys, with a cool continental climate and warm summers.

The Piros Siller 2022 is a light red “siller” style wine made primarily from Kékfrankos blended with Kadarka and small amounts of Merlot and Sagrantino components sourced from Heimann’s vineyards. Grapes are direct pressed and fermented with native yeasts, with short skin contact typical of siller, then aged for a few months in concrete or stainless tanks, emphasising freshness and pure fruit. It shows bright ruby colour with red berry, spice and herbal notes, gentle acidity and a refreshing finish. Serve lightly chilled with charcuterie, paprika spiced dishes, grilled vegetables and lighter grilled meats for a versatile, approachable wine that celebrates Szekszárd’s terroir.
