Guy Farge Passion de Terrases Saint Jospeh 2020

Domaine Guy Farge is a family owned winery in Saint-Jean-de-Muzols in the northern Rhône Valley, where the Farge family has cultivated vines for several generations. Since establishing the estate in 2007, Guy Farge and his son Thomas have earned a reputation for producing elegant, terroir driven wines from some of the region's finest hillside vineyards. The Saint-Joseph vineyards are planted on steep, granite slopes with patches of gneiss and decomposed granite, providing excellent drainage and producing wines of freshness, structure and mineral character. The estate follows sustainable vineyard practices with meticulous manual work to preserve the integrity of the terroir.

Guy Farge Passion de Terrasses Saint-Joseph 2020 is made from 100% Syrah sourced from selected hillside parcels within the appellation. The grapes are destemmed before temperature controlled fermentation with gentle extraction to preserve fruit purity, followed by ageing for approximately 12 months in French oak barrels, a proportion of which are new, adding complexity without overwhelming the wine. Aromas of blackberry, black cherry and violet are layered with notes of black pepper, liquorice, smoked meat and subtle spice. The palate is concentrated yet refined, with silky tannins and a long mineral finish, pairing beautifully with roast lamb, grilled beef, venison, game dishes and mature cheeses.
