Gianni Brunelli Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2009
Gianni Brunelli is originally from Montalcino. He returned in 1987 to take over the running of his father’s property, “La Chiusa de Sotto”. The 5-hectare domain is located to the north-east of Montalcino where Sangiovese in planted on 2 hectares while olive trees grow in the rest of the domain for the production of olive oil.
The wine, produced exclusively from Sangiovese, has received 36 months' élevage in 20-hectolitre wooden vats. Its ruby appearance reveals aromas of roses, black berries and earth. The attack is velvety and generous. Its aromatic persistence makes it a good pairing for food of character.
