Gasper Cabernet Franc 2018

Gasper Cabernet Franc 2018 comes from Vinarství Gasper, a family run winery in Moravia, Czech Republic. The vines are grown on south facing loess and clay loam slopes, with chalky subsoils that promote good drainage and elegant ripening. The estate uses low intervention, environmentally conscious viticulture focused on healthy soils and balance. The wine is vegan friendly, made without animal derived fining agents.

The 2018 Cabernet Franc is 100% Cabernet Franc, hand harvested and fermented with gentle extraction to preserve varietal purity. After fermentation the wine is aged for around 12–18 months in a combination of stainless steel and large wooden casks, allowing development of complexity without heavy oak influence. It is medium to full bodied with aromas of black cherry, raspberry, herb, pepper and subtle earth, firm polished tannins and fine acidity. Ideal with grilled meats, roast lamb, venison, game stews or mature cheeses, this expressive Cabernet Franc pairs beautifully with rich, savoury dishes that complement its structure and spice.
