Franz Haas Gewurtztraminer 2021

Franz Haas is a prestigious family-owned winery in Alto Adige, Italy, founded in 1880 and now run by the eighth generation. The estate spans 50 hectares of vineyards across multiple sub-regions, including Montagna, Neumarkt, Aldein, and Trodena. Vineyards sit at altitudes of 220-1,150?metres on clay, limestone soils, producing grapes with pronounced minerality.

The 2021 Gewürztraminer comes from carefully selected high-altitude sites between 360-650m with south-west exposure. Grapes are hand-harvested, fermented off skins, and aged for six months on fine lees in stainless steel, preserving freshness and enhancing texture. Aromas of lychee, rose petal, orange zest, and exotic spices lead to a rich, elegant palate. Pairs beautifully with spicy Asian cuisine, shellfish, paté or soft cheeses.
