Frantz Saumon is a Loire Valley winemaker based in Montlouis-sur-Loire, working with organically farmed vineyards and a natural, low intervention philosophy. After experience with biodynamic producers, he established his own domaine focusing on Chenin Blanc grown on the region’s classic tuffeau limestone soils, with clay and flint adding texture and minerality. The temperate climate, influenced by the Loire River, allows slow ripening and balanced acidity. Vineyard work is carried out without synthetic chemicals and the wines are typically made without fining or filtration, making them suitable for vegans.

La Petite Gaule du Matin is a pétillant naturel made from 100% Chenin Blanc. The wine undergoes primary fermentation with indigenous yeasts and is bottled before fermentation is complete, allowing natural carbonation to develop in bottle. It is aged briefly on its lees for a few months before release, with no dosage added. The wine is fresh and lightly sparkling, showing notes of green apple, pear and citrus with a gentle yeasty character. The palate is lively and crisp, making it ideal as an aperitif or paired with seafood, salads and light starters.
