Description

Foradori is one of the most influential estates in Trentino, led by Elisabetta Foradori, who revitalised the indigenous Teroldego grape and helped redefine the region’s identity. Teroldego, often referred to as the “prince of Trentino grapes”, is native to the Campo Rotaliano and is prized for its deep colour, vibrant acidity and ability to express both fruit purity and earthy complexity. Based in Campo Rotaliano in the foothills of the Dolomites, the estate has been farmed biodynamically since 2009, with a strong focus on soil health, biodiversity and minimal intervention. The vineyards lie on alluvial plains formed by the Noce river, with soils composed of gravel, sand and stones that provide excellent drainage and contribute to the wine’s purity and minerality. The 2021 vintage in Trentino was considered excellent, with a balanced growing season producing wines of freshness, precision and vibrant fruit character.

Foradori Teroldego 2021 is made from grapes sourced from estate vineyards and fermented with indigenous yeasts in a combination of concrete and large neutral vessels to preserve varietal purity. The wine is aged for approximately 12 months in a mix of concrete tanks and large oak casks, followed by a short period in bottle before release. The result is a vivid and expressive wine showing aromas of wild blackberry, plum, violet and alpine herbs, with subtle earthy and mineral notes. The palate is fresh and energetic, with fine tannins, bright acidity and a clean, persistent finish. It pairs beautifully with charcuterie, roasted pork, game birds and hearty vegetable dishes. The 2021 is drinking very well now but has the structure to evolve over the next 5-8 years. Critics consistently praise the wine for its “purity, energy and authentic expression of Teroldego,” making it a benchmark for the variety.
