Fibbiano Le Pianette Toscana Rosso 2021

Fibbiano Le Pianette Toscana Rosso 2021 is produced by Fattoria di Fibbiano, a family run estate located near Terricciola in Tuscany, within the wider Toscana IGT zone. The winery dates back several centuries and is now managed with a focus on certified organic farming, emphasising on sustainability together with low intervention practices. Vineyards lie on rolling hills composed of clay and limestone soils, benefiting from Mediterranean breezes.

Le Pianette is made predominantly from Sangiovese, blended with 30% of traditional local varieties such as Colorino. Fermentation takes place in over 4 months in cement tank where the malolactic fermentation takes place, later with 12 months in Slavonian wooden barrels and finally 4 months in bottle. The wine shows notes of red cherry, plum, dried herbs and a hint of spice, with balanced acidity and soft tannins. It pairs well with pasta dishes, roasted meats and mature cheeses.
