Feudo Pignatone Etna Rosso 2021
Feudo Pignatone Etna Rosso 2021 is produced by Società Agricola Emiliano Falsini, a winery dedicated to expressing the unique terroirs of Mount Etna on Sicily’s northern slopes. The grapes come from the historic Feudo Pignatone contrada in Randazzo, planted at around 700m above sea level on volcanic soils of ash, pumice and basalt that impart mineral intensity and finesse to the wine. The vineyards are organically farmed, with rigorous manual selection ensuring quality and a true reflection of this volcanic landscape, and minimal intervention winemaking makes the wine suitable for vegans.
Made from 100% Nerello Mascalese from vines aged between 30 and 100 years, Feudo Pignatone Etna Rosso 2021 was fermented spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in small open tanks, with approximately 30% whole bunches and around 12 days of skin contact. After fermentation the wine was aged for 10 months in oak casks that help integrate structure while preserving freshness. The wine shows bright red cherry, raspberry and wild herb aromatics with striking mineral notes and fine tannins, reflecting Etna’s volcanic terroir. It pairs beautifully with grilled red meats, rich pasta dishes, roast pork and semi-aged cheeses, offering both elegance and complexity.
