Founded in 1885 by Italian immigrant Felipe Rutini, Rutini Wines is one of Argentina’s most esteemed wineries. Located in the Valle de Uco sub-region of Mendoza, the estate cultivates vineyards at altitudes between 900 and 1,500 metres, benefiting from dramatic diurnal temperature shifts, alluvial soils with clay and sand and excellent drainage. These conditions produce grapes with intense concentration, refined tannins, and vibrant acidity. While not certified organic Rutini employs sustainable viticulture practices to maintain soil health and biodiversity, ensuring the terroir is expressed in every bottle.

The 2017 Felipe Rutini is a Bordeaux-style blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon (from Agrelo), 30% Merlot (from Tupungato), and 20% Malbec (from La Consulta). Each variety was fermented separately in small stainless steel tanks to preserve its unique characteristics. The wine underwent 100% malolactic fermentation and was aged for 24 months in new French and American oak barrels. The result is a deep ruby-red wine with aromas of ripe cherries, strawberries and plums, complemented by notes of cocoa, tobacco, leather, and dark chocolate. On the palate the wine is medium to full-bodied with great depth, concentrated red fruit flavours and elegant, silky tannins. This wine pairs beautifully with roasted meats, grilled steaks or aged cheeses.
