Produced by Fattoria Selvapiana, Vigneto Erchi represents one of the purest expressions of Sangiovese from Chianti Rufina, Tuscany's coolest and highest Chianti appellation. Owned by the Giuntini family since 1827, Selvapiana has long been regarded as the benchmark estate of Rufina, thanks largely to the work of Francesco Giuntini, whose dedication demonstrated that the region's wines could rival the elegance and longevity of Tuscany's finest Sangiovese. Today the estate remains under the guidance of Federico Giuntini, continuing a philosophy centred on meticulous vineyard work and traditional winemaking. Vigneto Erchi is one of the estate's finest hillside vineyards and is bottled under the Terraelectae designation, a project created by the Chianti Rufina Consorzio to showcase single-vineyard, 100% Sangiovese wines that express the unique terroirs of the appellation.

Made from 100% Sangiovese, the 2020 vintage was fermented with indigenous yeasts before ageing for approximately 30 months in large French oak casks, preserving the purity and transparency of the fruit while allowing the vineyard's character to take centre stage. The outstanding 2020 growing season produced a wine of remarkable balance, combining concentration with the freshness that defines Rufina. Aromas of sour cherry, wild raspberry and red plum are layered with notes of violet, dried herbs, tobacco, cedar and subtle balsamic nuances, underpinned by a distinctive mineral edge. The palate is refined and beautifully structured, with finely woven tannins, vibrant acidity and exceptional length.
