Errazuriz Vinedo Chadwick 2009
Viñedo Chadwick is a tribute to Don Alfonso Chadwick, exemplifying the Chadwick family's long-standing tradition in producing world-class wines. Situated in Puente Alto, a prestigious sub-region of the Maipo Valley, the vineyard benefits from alluvial soils with clay and gravel, excellent drainage, and cooling breezes from the Andes. These conditions, combined with sustainable farming practices and careful vertical trellising, produce grapes with remarkable concentration, structure, and balance. While not certified organic the estate prioritises environmental stewardship and meticulous vineyard management. The 2009 vintage is crafted from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, highlighting the unique terroir of Puente Alto.
The 2009 Viñedo Chadwick underwent fermentation in small stainless steel tanks, followed by aging for 22 months in French oak barrels, with 93% being new. The wine displays complex aromas of ripe blackberries, plums and violets, complemented by notes of dark chocolate, tobacco, and a hint of spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied with velvety tannins and a long, refined finish. This wine is suitable for vegans, as no animal-derived fining agents are used in its production. It pairs beautifully with grilled meats, roasted vegetables or aged cheeses, offering a refined expression of Chilean terroir.
