Champagne Egly-Ouriet is one of the most revered grower producers in Champagne, based in the Grand Cru village of Ambonnay in the Montagne de Reims. The family domaine dates back to the early 20th century and is now led by Francis Egly, whose meticulous vineyard work and low intervention philosophy have elevated the estate to cult status among enthusiasts. The vineyards, including prime sites in Ambonnay, Bouzy and Verzenay, are farmed organically with biodynamic principles to preserve soil vitality and terroir expression. These Grand Cru slopes are dominated by chalk and limestone with clay components, giving power and minerality. Based on the 2020 vintage which is defined as a historically early, "almost perfect" year that completed a rare trilogy of exceptional harvests (2018, 2019, 2020) by delivering gloriously ripe, concentrated fruit with a remarkable balance of vibrant freshness and aromatic purity, reflecting the hallmark of Egly-Ouriet’s balanced and age worthy style.

Egly-Ouriet Grand Cru is typically a blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay from low yielding old vines, fermented and aged in barrel with natural yeasts before spending 52 months on its lees, far longer than most non vintage Champagnes. This extended ageing enhances texture, depth and complexity. The wine shows aromas of ripe red fruits, baked apple, brioche and spice, with a broad palate balanced by chalky minerality and a persistent finish. It pairs beautifully with roast poultry, turbot, shellfish or creamy dishes. Drinking superbly now, it will continue to develop for 5–10 years or more. Vinous awarded it 95 points, describing it as “powerful, super-pure Champagne".
