Dreissigacker, based in Bechtheim in Rheinhessen, is led by Jochen Dreissigacker, who has transformed the family estate into one of Germany’s most respected organic wineries. The estate is certified organic with biodynamic practices increasingly shaping vineyard work. The Rheinhessen, Germany’s largest wine region, is known for its rolling hills, limestone-rich soils and dry climate that favour precise, mineral-driven Rieslings. The Morstein vineyard, a Grosse Lage, sits on south-facing limestone and marl slopes, producing wines of great structure, depth and ageing potential.

The Morstein Riesling 2014 was hand-harvested from low-yielding old vines, spontaneously fermented with native yeasts, and aged for around 12 months in large traditional oak casks on the lees. The cool, challenging 2014 vintage in Rheinhessen produced wines with crisp acidity, refined fruit and strong ageing potential. This bone-dry Riesling shows aromas of citrus, quince, flint and herbs, underpinned by chalky minerality. It pairs beautifully with shellfish, grilled white fish, veal schnitzel, or aged alpine cheeses.
