The Estate Riesling brings together grapes from Jochen Dreissigacker’s vineyards around Bechtheim, where limestone-rich soils and the dry, sunny climate of Wonnegau give Riesling both concentration and freshness. Rather than representing a single parcel, it is intended as a clear expression of the estate’s vineyards and the character of Rheinhessen. The 2022 vintage was warm and dry, but careful vineyard management and the region’s cool nights helped preserve acidity and aromatic definition.
Harvested by hand, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented with indigenous yeasts before maturation on the fine lees, allowing the wine to gain texture while retaining its energy. The 2022 combines ripe citrus and yellow apple with peach, white flowers and subtle herbal notes. Its generous fruit is balanced by lively acidity and a distinctly stony, savoury character, finishing dry, focused and refreshing. A versatile Riesling that captures Dreissigacker’s precise, modern style without losing the natural character of the vineyard.
