Dorli Muhr Ried Spitzerberg Liebkind 1OTW 2021

Weingut Dorli Muhr is a boutique organic estate in Austria’s Carnuntum, fully organic since 2018. The Ried Kobeln “Liebkind” vineyard lies on Spitzerberg’s highest, most windswept, limestone-rich slopes, planted in 2008. Yields are miniscule, reflecting stark site intensity. Viticulture is biodynamically inspired, with ultra-low intervention.

The Blaufränkisch grapes are hand-harvested, spontaneously fermented in open vats with gentle maceration and occasional foot-treading, foregoing pumps. It matures 20 months in large, used wooden casks before minimal racking, unfiltered. Expect elegant sour cherry, wild strawberry, rosehip, violet, pepper and limestone minerality. Silky tannins, precise acidity and a long refined finish. Pair with roast gamebirds, veal, wild mushrooms or root vegetable medleys.
