Domaine Zinck Gewurztraminer 2019
The Domaine Zinck winery was established in 1964 by Paul Zinck in the picturesque village of Eguisheim. It is a family-run estate renowned for its commitment to sustainable viticulture. The estate embraces organic and biodynamic practices, focusing on enhancing soil health and fostering biodiversity. Eguisheim is sistuated in the heart of Alsace wine route and is one of regions most celebrated and historic wine villages. It is surrounded by a ring of vineyards that climb gently up limestone and marl-rich slopes, benefiting from optimal sun exposure and well-drained soils, producing grapes with exceptional aromatic intensity and minerality.
The Gewurztraminer is crafted from hand-harvested grapes and fermented with indigenous yeasts to preserve the varietal character. Aged in traditional Alsatian foudres this aids the wine to develop a complex bouquet of lychee, rose petal, and spice which are complemented by a rich, off-dry palate and a refreshing acidity. This Gewurztraminer pairs beautifully with spicy Asian cuisine, foie gras, and creamy cheeses, offering a delightful complement to bold flavours.
