Domaine Stéphane Aladame was founded in 1992 by Stéphane Aladame at age 18, in Montagny-lès-Buxy, Côte Chalonnaise, Burgundy. The domaine now covers around 8 hectares, 7 of which are Premier Cru. The vines are cultivated with “lutte raisonnée” (integrated, eco-conscious farming) with soil work, restricted chemical treatments, manual harvest and respect for the terroir. The vineyard parcels are planted on clay-limestone soils with vines that are up to 60 years old, at altitudes around 300-330m, offering freshness and minerality typical of Montagny 1er Cru.

The 2018 Montagny 1er Cru was vinified using direct whole-cluster pressing and fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Maturation was in old French oak barrels for around 10-12 months. Full malolactic fermentation took place to give a round and creamy texture of the final wine. The wine exhibits aromas of yellow apple, white peach, citrus zest and soft honey with an underlying minerality and toasty oak spice. The palate is elegant yet structured with a good acidity and a long finish. Pair with roasted poultry, seafood (scallops or sea bass), creamy cheeses or mild game dishes.
