Description

Produced by Domaine Prieuré Roch, Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Gollardes reflects the estate’s uncompromising vision of Burgundy and its commitment to expressing individual vineyard sites with absolute transparency. Founded by the late Henry-Frédéric Roch, whose influence extended through his long association with Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, the domaine has become one of Burgundy’s most sought-after producers through its dedication to organic and biodynamic farming, meticulous manual vineyard work and minimal intervention in the cellar. The Les Gollardes vineyard lies in Savigny-lès-Beaune, where limestone and clay soils, combined with a cool, well-exposed site, produce Pinot Noir of finesse and aromatic complexity. True to the domaine’s philosophy, the focus is on preserving the living character of the vineyard rather than imposing a heavily crafted style.

Made from 100% Pinot Noir, the wine is vinified with whole clusters and indigenous yeasts, with little sulphur and no fining or filtration, allowing the fruit and terroir to speak with clarity. The 2023 vintage brings both generosity and freshness, resulting in a wine that is vibrant, nuanced and deeply expressive. Aromas of wild strawberry, Morello cherry and redcurrant are layered with rose petals, dried herbs, sweet spice and subtle forest floor notes, while whole-bunch fermentation contributes delicate floral and savoury complexity. The palate is silky and energetic, with fine-grained tannins, bright acidity and a persistent mineral thread that carries through the finish. Elegant and ethereal rather than powerful, Les Gollardes captures the refined side of Savigny-lès-Beaune while remaining unmistakably Prieuré Roch in its purity, texture and living sense of place.
