Description

Domaine Gueguen is a family run estate based in Préhy near Chablis, founded by Céline and Frédéric Gueguen. The domaine has developed a strong reputation for precise, mineral driven wines that reflect the classic terroirs of northern Burgundy. Vineyards are planted on the famous Kimmeridgian limestone soils of Chablis, rich in fossilised marine sediments that contribute the region’s distinctive saline minerality. The cool continental climate helps preserve freshness and acidity, particularly in warmer vintages such as 2024, which produced expressive wines with good balance and aromatic purity. The estate follows sustainable vineyard practices with careful soil management and predominantly manual vineyard work.

Domaine Gueguen Chablis 2024 is made from 100% Chardonnay sourced from vineyards around Préhy and neighbouring Chablis communes. The grapes are gently pressed and fermented at controlled temperatures in stainless steel to preserve freshness and terroir expression. The wine is typically aged on fine lees for around 6 to 10 months, mainly in stainless steel with occasional use of neutral oak depending on the parcel and vintage. It shows aromas of lemon zest, green apple and white flowers with pronounced chalky mineral notes. The palate is crisp, precise and refreshing with bright acidity and a saline finish. It pairs particularly well with oysters, shellfish, grilled fish and soft goat’s cheeses.
