Domaine Chevalier Ladoix Blanc Bois de Mont 2020

Bois de Mont is a higher-altitude lieu-dit in Ladoix, sitting just below the Grand Cru Corton-Charlemagne slopes. Its east to southeast exposure and limestone-dominated soils give the Chardonnay a distinctly mineral profile, while the elevation brings freshness and definition. The 2020 vintage was warm and dry, producing ripe, concentrated fruit, but the site’s limestone and altitude preserve the tension that keeps the wine poised rather than heavy.

There is a lovely combination of ripe citrus, white peach and yellow apple here, with the 2020 showing additional layers of hazelnut, almond and subtle vanilla from its élevage. The palate is broad and supple at first, then tightens around a fresh mineral core, with fine acidity carrying the wine towards a long, gently saline finish. Already expressive, it has the concentration and structure to gain further complexity with bottle age.
