Domaine Bois Bruley Muscadet 2022

Domaine du Bois Bruley has belonged to the Chéreau family since the 1960s and is located in Basse-Goulaine, just outside Nantes in the Muscadet Sèvre et Maine appellation. The vineyards are planted on a plateau of schist and micaschist, soils that encourage early ripening while contributing freshness and mineral character. The cool Atlantic influenced climate of the Pays Nantais further helps retain the bright acidity for which Muscadet is known.

The 2022 Domaine du Bois Bruley Muscadet is made from 100% Melon de Bourgogne, the sole grape permitted for the Muscadet appellation. The grapes are mechanically harvested in September, then fermented with temperature control before spending 6-9 months ageing on its fine lees. This lees ageing gives the wine additional texture while retaining the grape's natural freshness. Pale and lively, it shows lime, grapefruit, green apple and white flowers, with a clean, mineral finish and a subtle saline character. Crisp and refreshing, it is a natural match for oysters, mussels, prawns, crab, grilled fish and fresh goat's cheese.
