Demorgenzon DMZ Chenin Blanc 2023

DeMorgenzon is a prestigious winery located in Stellenbosch, South Africa. A region known for its mediterranean climate, cooling Atlantic breezes and diverse soils. The estate covers 91 hectares, with 55 hectares of vineyards planted on decomposed granite and weathered soils offering excellent drainage and mineral complexity. The DMZ Chenin Blanc 2023 comes from carefully managed old bush vines benefiting from low yields, precise canopy management and sustainable farming practices that protect biodiversity and enhance grape quality.

The DMZ Chenin Blanc 2023 was hand-harvested and whole-bunch pressed. The juice was settled naturally before fermentation which took place in a combination of stainless steel and neutral oak barrels using natural yeasts, preserving the fresh fruit character while adding subtle complexity. The wine matured on lees for several months, enhancing texture and depth. Aromas of green apple, apricot, and white flowers are complemented by hints of honey and minerality. Crisp, layered, and elegant, it pairs beautifully with seafood, grilled chicken, or fresh summer salads.
