Cuilleron 'Signe' Syrah Viognier
Domaine Yves Cuilleron is a well established, family run estate in France’s Northern Rhône, led by Yves Cuilleron, who represents the third generation of the family. Based near Chavanay, the domaine farms vineyards across the Collines Rhodaniennes and neighbouring appellations, working with steep slopes and predominantly granitic soils. Viticulture is carried out with a strong focus on sustainability, careful vineyard management and respect for terroir, though the estate is not formally certified organic. The wines are made with a low-intervention philosophy to express site and vintage character.
Signé Syrah-Viognier 2024 is a Northern Rhône-inspired blend of approximately 85% Syrah and 15% Viognier, co-fermented to enhance aromatic complexity and texture. The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented with gentle extraction, followed by ageing for around eight months in oak barrels to build structure without dominating the fruit. Medium to full bodied, the wine shows ripe dark berries, black pepper, violet and subtle spice, with supple tannins and fresh acidity. It pairs well with grilled meats, lamb, charcuterie, roasted vegetables and richly flavoured vegetarian dishes.
