Yves Cuilleron is a renowned third-generation winemaker in the Northern Rhône whose domaine extends over 60 hectares across Condrieu, Côte-Rôtie, Saint-Joseph and Cornas. He farms sustainably with meticulously hand-worked vineyards following “la lutte raisonnée” method - a French viticultural term meaning "the reasoned struggle" or "reasoned fight" referring to a farming method that minimises the use of chemicals to preserve biodiversity and vine health. Saint-Joseph is a long, narrow appellation along the rugged Rhône valley, features steep terraces of granite and schist that produce expressive, savoury Syrah and aromatic whites.

The Saint-Joseph “Digue” 2024 is made from a single lieu-dit on steep, south-facing granitic slopes at Saint-Pierre-de-Bœuf. The Viognier grapes are hand-harvested at full ripeness, then gently pressed as whole clusters. Fermentation takes place with native yeasts in a mix of barriques and larger oak casks, with regular bâtonnage to build texture. The wine is aged for around nine months on its fine lees, balancing richness and precision. It offers white flowers, ripe stone fruit, citrus and subtle honey, carried by a savoury, mineral backbone. Pair with shellfish, lobster ravioli, roast chicken or creamy goat’s cheese.
