Crystallum The Agnes Chardonnay 2023

Crystallum is a boutique South African winery founded by brothers Peter-Allan and Andrew Finlayson in the renowned Walker Bay region. They focus on cool-climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, sourcing from Hemel-en-Aarde and Overberg vineyards, applying minimal-intervention winemaking to express purity, terroir, and balance in every vintage.

The Agnes Chardonnay 2023 was produced using the traditional method of transferring whole grape clusters directly into the press, with juice settled overnight before racking into 228L and 500L French oak barrels (10% new). Natural fermentation occurred in barrel, where the wine matured on lees for ten months before bottling. Expect aromas of citrus blossom, peach and green apple, followed by lime zest, pear, butterscotch and gunflint on the palate, finishing with a bright, saline minerality.
