Conte di Lucca Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2024

Conte di Lucca is a classic Montepulciano from Italy’s Abruzzo region, where vineyards benefit from a mix of glacial and volcanic-derived soils and a warm Mediterranean climate tempered by cooling breezes. The Talamonti estate farms approximately 32 hectares of vines, including Montepulciano and other local varieties, with a focus on clean, precise fruit expression. This wine is vegan friendly and made with environmentally respectful practices

The 2024 Conte di Lucca is made from 100% Montepulciano grapes, hand-harvested and fermented before ageing in small oak barrels (225?l) for around eight months to add subtle structure and complexity without overpowering the fruit. Medium-bodied with a ripe and harmonious palate, it shows juicy red plum, sour cherry and black currant notes with hints of tobacco and spice, supported by balanced acidity and a smooth finish. This approachable, Old World style pairs beautifully with grilled meats, hearty pasta dishes, game and mature cheeses.
