Claude Riffault is one of Sancerre’s rising stars, now run by Stéphane Riffault, who farms his vineyards organically and with great respect for nature. Based in Sury-en-Vaux, near the heart of Sancerre, the estate focuses on purity and precision, crafting wines that reflect the character of their limestone-rich soils.

The 2023 Sancerre Rouge “La Noue” is made entirely from Pinot Noir grown on chalky hillsides, expressing freshness and elegance over power. Delicate red fruit aromas mingle with gentle spice and a silky texture, showing a Burgundian grace that makes it instantly appealing. Recent vintages have earned praise from critics, with scores around 91–93 points for their balance and finesse. Best enjoyed between 2025 and 2032.
