Domaine Benoît Chauveau is a family owned estate with a winemaking tradition spanning five generations. The estate is approximately 15 hectares across the Pouilly-Fumé, Pouilly-sur-Loire, and Coteaux du Giennois appellations, with the La Charmette vineyard located in the commune of Pouilly-sur-Loire. The vines range from 3 to 45 years old and thrive in the Kimmeridgian marl, hard limestone and flint soils. The estate practices sustainable viticulture, focusing on soil health and biodiversity to produce wines that authentically reflect their origin.

The La Charmette Pouilly-Fumé is crafted from hand harvested Sauvignon Blanc grapes. The winemaking process begins with pneumatic pressing, followed by cold settling at 15°C to clarify the juice. Alcoholic fermentation occurs at a controlled temperature of 16-18°C in stainless steel tanks, preserving the aromatic and fresh characters of the cool climate Sauvignon Blanc grapes. The wine is aged on its lees to enhance complexity and mouthfeel. It presents a pale gold colour with green highlights with aromas of citrus fruits, white flowers and a subtle hint of flint. The palate is crisp with a clean, mineral-driven finish. This Pouilly-Fumé pairs beautifully with seafood, goat's cheese, and dishes featuring fresh herbs.
