Chateau Poujeaux Moulis en Medoc 2018

Château Poujeaux is an esteemed Médoc estate in Moulis-en-Médoc with a long tradition of quality winemaking and carefully tended vineyards. The domaine covers substantial gravel-rich ridges on the Grand Poujeaux plateau, with Günzian gravels over clay and sand giving excellent drainage and concentration. Vineyards are managed with sustainable, reasoned viticulture.

The 2018 Château Poujeaux is a classic Bordeaux blend (approx. 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc). Grapes were hand-harvested, fermented in vats with careful extraction and matured for about 12 months in French oak (c.30–40% new). Expect blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar and spice, firm refined tannins and a mineral finish; pairs with roast lamb, beef, game and mature cheeses.
